How to Reach Us

Most of the conference attendees will come from abroad and will reach Sicily by plane.

The main Airport in Palermo is “Falcone-Borsellino Airport”, situated in Punta Raisi, 35 km northwest of Palermo.

Airport Shuttle (recommended)
There is a private bus company “Prestia e Comande” operating on daily basis on the route between the Palermo Central Train Station / Politeama (Piazza Castelnuovo) and the airport. The journey takes 40 – 55 minutes, depending on where your exit station is (Piazza Castelnuovo or the Central Station). The ticket costs around 7€ for a one way ticket and 11€ for a return ticket. The first bus departs from the airport at 05:00, while the first bus leaves Palermo at 04:00. Buses depart every 30 minutes. The “Prestia e Comande” bus station at the airport is on the right the airport exit.

Taxi services
Private taxis are a faster solution, but they are much more expensive (they normally ask for 45,00 € for a one way ride (even more after 08:00 p.m.). It’s possible to negotiate. Taxis are available just outside of the airport doors.

Train
The Trinacria Express serves the line between the Palermo airport and the main railway station. The travel time is approximately 60 minutes. The train departs twice an hour both towards Palermo and Palermo Airport (the last train departs at 10:00 p.m.). A single ticket costs 5,80 €.
