Successfully completed the 15th meeting of the NATO M&S CoE Steering Committee
Rome – Despite the challenging circumstances affecting the today’s world, on the 1st and 2nd December 2020, the NATO M&S COE hosted the 15th Steering Committee meeting at the “Adriano De Cicco” barracks in Rome.
The meeting, organized for the first time in digital mode, ensured full compliance with the current safety measures and guaranteed the maximum inclusivity for those joining remotely.
The meeting was attended by all the NATO M&S CoE Sponsoring Nations – Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, and the United States of America – as well as observers from Sweden and HQ SACT.
During the meeting, Nations endorsed the new NATO M&S CoE organizational chart, received a report on the Centre’s Program of Work (POW) 2020 and approved the 2021 one.
The Steering Committee Members were also updated on the results of the main activities accomplished during 2020; CA2X2 FORUM and MESAS 2020, just to name a few.
During his introductory message, Colonel Michele TURI, the NATO M&S CoE Director, stated that “It is not the first time that the M&S COE organizes such an event in a digital environment. Thanks to the virtualization of most of the activities, we have been able to organize e-learning courses, events and have allowed staff members to work remotely. The COVID-19 outbreak impacted only a small portion of our POW and I’m glad to inform that other Nations and Partners, like Sweden and Romania, have expressed their willingness to join or collaborate with us. The growing interest is an indication of the emerging opportunities despite this difficult period”.
The next edition of the Steering Committee meeting will be held in Spring 2021.
The 15th Steering Committee meeting just finished.
Nations endorsed the new organizational chart, approved the POW 2021 and were briefed on the Center’s future activities and challenges.
