NATO M&S COE Steering Committee Informative Update
On May 27th 2020 a virtual update meeting to the NATO M&S COE Steering Committee (SC) took place in order to inform the SC members on the status of the 2020 Program Of Work (POW) and the other planned M&S COE activities.
The Steering Committee was advised that the Covid-19 situation impacted only a small portion of the POW, with numerous events postponed. The Centre took actions to mitigate the effects of the restrictions due to the virus, such as the COE’s existing remote-working systems expanded to the full staff. These solutions had a relatively minor impact to operations, and many of these technologies continue to support the M&S COE activities.
One of the most relevant updates was the decision to hold the 2020 CA2X2 Forum virtually. The Centre is evaluating virtual platforms to make the transition and will work to leverage the technology to add value available from virtual capabilities.
The SC members were also informed about some opportunities risen during this period (such as focused training and testing of new JTLS software) and a few new projects for the future.
Finally, the virtual meeting was the occasion for a farewell to some key COE member staff that will end their tour of duty at the Centre shortly.
