NATO Joint Force Training Centre Commander visits the M&S COE

Rome – on 5 July 2022, the Joint Force Training Centre Commander, Maj. Gen. (German Army) Norbert Wagner, visited the NATO Modelling and Simulation Centre of Excellence at the Cecchignola military compound.

The aim of the visit was to explore opportunities for future cooperation with the NATO M&S COE. In this context, Modeling & Simulation (M&S) represents an essential tool for the Alliance to face some of its more difficult challenges.

The JFTC Commander attended a presentation about the Centre, its mission and capabilities, and participated in demonstrations on the various research projects in progress. At the end, Maj. Gen. Wagner thanked the Centre for the opportunity to visit and learn more about what the M&S COE is doing in its support to NATO.

The Director of M&S COE, Col. Stefano Lo Storto, said in the closing greeting: “We thank the JFTC Commander for visiting us and for the interest shown in our activities. We look forward to increasing cooperation between our experts as we both believe M&S is a powerful tool to support the transformation of the Alliance”.
