Modelling and Simulation for Autonomous Systems (MESAS) Conference – 17-19 October 2018 – Prague

The NATO M&S COE organized the 6th edition of the Modelling and Simulation for Autonomous Systems (MESAS) Conference from Wed 17 – Fri 19 October 2018 in PVA EXPO area in Prague, Czech Republic. MESAS is an international scientific conference and was held as part of the Future Forces Forum and in conjunction with the Multi-domain Advanced Robotic Systems Conference.

Key attendees included General Petr Pavel, former Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee; Dr. Thomas Killian, NATO’s Chief Scientist; Mr. Pavel Dolechek, Deputy Minister of Education of the Czech Republic; and Professor Ronald Arkin, Georgia Institute of Technology.

Topics of this year’s edition of MESAS included SwarmingR&D and Application, Future Challenges of Advanced M&S Technology, M&S of Intelligent Systems – AI, R&D and Applications, AxS in Context of Future Warfare and Security Environment (Concepts, Applications, Training, Interoperability, etc.).

MESAS 2018 participants presented 55 scientific papers to more than 100 participants from the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Finland and the USA, with backgrounds in the fields of research, academia, industry or military.

The scientific committee for this year’s event consisted of over 50 personnel from 6 nations.

MESAS 2018 was technically sponsored by academic and industries, such as Springer, MIMOS, Czech Technical University in Prague, University of Palermo, Czech Military Technical Institute, Czech Military Industries (VOP CZ and LOM Praha), and Future Forces Forum (CZE).

MESAS 2019 will take place in October 2019.
