NATO CAX Forum 2018 - 25-27 September 2018 - Sofia (Bulgaria)
The NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence organized, in cooperation with the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response COE, the 13th edition of the NATO Computer Assisted eXercise (CAX) Forum in Sofia (Bulgaria), from 25th through 27th September 2018.
CAX Forum is the NATO M&S COE’s annual international event focused on the effective conduct of computer assisted exercises.
NATO CAX Forum’s goal is to promote the exchange of information and best practices among NATO, Nations and partner commands/organizations, particularly the training and simulation centres.
The event was highly successful this year, attracting 185 participants from 22 NATO Nations and partner countries. The participation of this high number of leaders and experts came from a broad spectrum of entities, including government/military, industry and academic organisations.
This strong showing is what makes the NATO CAX Forum the ideal place to share and discuss techniques and issues with the alliance’s best CAX practitioners. And while NATO is undergoing changes to its structure to better address its challenges and opportunities, the NATO CAX Forum similarly adapts to the critical topics of the day.
Participants showed a strong appreciation for the topics of cyber simulation and using M&S for decision-making support.
The Forum also featured discussions on the professionalization of the M&S domain for NATO, the future of simulations and game-changing technologies effecting future use of M&S.
The next edition of the CAX Forum will take place in Paris, France from 24-26 September 2019.
