Delegation of Czech Republic visited the NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (NATO M&S COE)
Rome – H. E. Mrs. Hana Hubáčková, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Italy visited the NATO Modeling & Simulation Centre of Excellence (NATO M&S COE) at the Cecchignola military compound.
General Enrico Degni (ITAF) Commander of the Italian Defence General Staff – VI Department, and Colonel Stefano Lo Storto (ITA-Army) Director of M&S COE, received the Ambassador’s delegation.
The visit is part of a broad cooperation program between the Czech Republic and the M&S COE: in this context, Modeling & Simulation (M&S) represents an essential tool for the Alliance to face some of its more difficult challenges.
The delegation, composed by Gen. Zuzana Kročová and Col. Jan Mazal, attended a presentation about the Centre, its mission and capabilities, and participated in demonstrations on the various research projects in progress. In this occasion the Rector of the Czech University of Defence Gen. Zuzana Kročová has renewed the strong partnership with COE.
At the end the Ambassador Hana Hubáčková, thanked the Centre for the opportunity to visit and learn more about what the M&S COE is doing to support NATO, and expressing words of deep appreciation for the professionalism and collaboration shown by the staff of the Centre.
The Director of M&S COE, Col. Stefano Lo Storto, said in the closing greeting: “This year we are celebrating together with our Partner Countries the 10th anniversary of the accreditation of this NATO Centre of Excellence. I thank the Ambassador for the visit and for the interest shown in our Centre. In particular, I thank the Czech Republic for being the first country to adhere to this ambitious project with the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding in 2010. Today we have new challenges in front of us and our Community of Interest needs to work strong together to guarantee expertise and guidance in the M&S domain for the benefit of the Alliance”.

The Centre act as a catalyst for transformation through the involvement of NATO, governments, academia, industry, operational and training entities, by improving the networking of NATO and nationally owned M&S systems, the cooperation between Nations and organizations through the sharing of M&S information and developments and serving as an international source of expertise for transformation in the related domain.
