18th meeting of the NATO M&S COE Steering Committee

Rome – The NATO M&S COE hosted the 18th Steering Committee meeting from 18-19 MAY 2022 in the “Adriano De Cicco” barracks in Cecchignola, Rome.

The meeting brought together the national representatives from the NATO M&S COE’s Sponsoring Nations – Italy, the Czech Republic, the United States, and Germany.  The meeting also hosted an observer from NATO ACT, a key partner for the Centre.

The meeting was an opportunity for the NATO M&S COE to provide a progress update on its 2022 Programme of Work as approved by the Steering Committee the previous meeting.  Programme of work efforts range from research activities to building effective capabilities to enhance the Alliance.  The NATO M&S COE will continue to provide expertise with regards to modelling & simulation to NATO, Nations, and its Partners.

During the opening of the meeting, the NATO M&S COE Director, Colonel Stefano LO STORTO, stated “the M&S COE continues to make great strides in our programme of work in support of NATO and the Alliance.  Our capabilities continue to improve and are becoming more and more relevant in the ever-changing environment that NATO and the Nations operate in.  These capabilities, and the professionalism of the Centre’s members, provides a great opportunity for additional nations to contribute their expertise to our Centre.  We welcome those nations who have a common interest in modelling and simulation to join us.”

The next steering committee meeting is scheduled for November 2022.
